Snow Emergency Policy for Overnight Permit Holders
When the City of Boston declares a snow emergency, the snow emergency will apply to all holders of overnight parking permits. The declaration of a snow emergency will impact Northeastern University by prohibiting vehicles with overnight permits from parking in any surface lot. During declared snow emergencies, overnight permit holders will be required to move their vehicle to the Renaissance Park Garage and Columbus Garage. The snow emergency policy will remain in effect until lifted by the City of Boston.
The City of Boston announces snow emergencies on all the major radio and television stations in the city. It is the responsibility of overnight permit holders to listen to the major radio and television stations for the announcements whenever snow is expected. For more information on Snow Emergencies visit the City of Boston website: http://www.cityofboston.gov/snow/
Parking overnight in the Columbus Garage and Renaissance Park Garage is available only to Students, Faculty and Staff whose vehicle displays a valid overnight parking permit.
Vehicles left parked in the surface lots during a declared snow emergency are subject to being towed without warning and at the owner’s expense.
